Donna has over 40 years of dance instructing experience and has coached and inspired
generations of dancers, from toddlers to adults. She is a member of the Cecchetti Council of
America, ADAPT (Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers in Tap, Jazz and Acro and
the Canadian Dance Teachers’ Association. She holds Al Gilbert Teachers’ Certifications for
Tap, Jazz and Ballet, Healthy Dancer Certificate, Acrobatic Arts Level 1 and Master Class
Series, Alixa Flexibilty Modules 1-3, Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT) and just newly
acquired her Progressive Contemporary Technique (PCT) certificate. Her desire for enrichment
in dance has led her to participate in numerous dance conventions, classes and workshops
outside of the studio including the Tremaine Dance Conventions, Toronto Dance Teacher Expo
and the Eastern Canadian Tap Conference. She also has High 5 and Quest 2 certifications
along with CPR-C.
Donna holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Kinetics with a major in Kinesiology from the
University of Windsor and has incorporated this knowledge into her dance training. In her
younger years, she was also a competitive gymnastics participant and instructor. As a dancer,
Donna attended international competitions and participated in professional dance performances
in the United States, where she has received scholarships and awards on numerous occasions.
In addition she has studied under an array of professional dancers including Enid Ricardo
(Cecchetti Ballet), Nancy Pattison (Cecchetti Ballet), Graciela Grundinger (Vaganova Ballet),
Ryan Foley, David Cox, Travis Knights and Everett Smith.
