Miss Elisa Giovenco is thrilled to be a part of the Dancsync Academy faculty for the 2018-2019 dance season! Her passion for dance and her eagerness to share her artistic talents with children and youth make her a great asset to our team. Miss Elisa danced competitively herself for five years specializing in Jazz and Musical Theatre; however, some of the best experiences of her dance career occurred during the rehearsal and performance of the numerous productions she has been a part of. Her favourite roles include the malevolent Scar in The Lion King (2012), and the ever-courageous Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games (2013).

Miss Elisa boasts an extensive amount of leadership and performance experience outside of her competitive dance career. After having been captain of the Holy Name of Mary Jazz/Lyrical Dance Team for three years, she made the decision to attend York University as a Theatre major. She graduated from York in June of 2017 having obtained both her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a Specialized Honours in Theatre Studies and her Bachelor of Education with a Specialization in Primary/Junior Education. Her involvement in a post-secondary theatre program provided her with many unique opportunities, including performing as Princess Angelica in Professor Ross Stuart’s adapted play, The Rose and the Ring. She also had the pleasure of both choreographing and starring in, The Adjudicator, another original play by Ross Stuart.

Aside from being a talented performer, Miss Elisa has also received much recognition for her choreography. During her eight years as a dance instructor her students have received countless awards and accolades for their athleticism, technical abilities, and stage presence as they perform her work. Her experience as a dance instructor combined with her love of teaching has allowed Miss Elisa to create a nurturing, positive, and fun studio environment that enables each dancer to reach their fullest potential. Miss Elisa is so excited to continue to share her love of dance with the students of Dancsync Academy. She cannot wait to embrace their talents and will welcome their passion for dance with open arms to the studio.
