Mrs. Kristen Vella is the owner and Artistic Director of Dancsync Academy Inc. Kristen has received a high quality dance education from an early age and is professionally trained in Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre and Classical Ballet. In high school, Kristen was given the opportunity to participate in many school productions, and by her senior year had earned the title of lead choreographer for the theatre company, Plays by Bird.

Kristen attended York University for her undergraduate studies. In 2010, she graduated Cum Laude and received an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, Dance and History studies. She also obtained a Bachelor of Education and is a registered Teacher with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT). Kristen was hired as a Secondary School teacher with the Peel District School Board in 2011. Since then, Kristen has taught dramatic arts and dance in numerous high schools in Brampton and Mississauga, including the Regional Arts Dance Program at Mayfield Secondary School. She currently teaches at Louise Arbour S.S., and takes pride in running a solid and culturally diverse Dance Education program.

Kristen Vella has been teaching dance for over 15 years in and around the GTA. She specializes in a variety of dance styles, including Jazz, Musical Theatre, Contemporary and Tap. Kristen has received many awards and cash scholarships for her innovative choreography and style. Under her direction, Kristen’s students have received numerous special awards and recognition for their technique, grace, and outstanding entertainment on stage. Kristen’s overall titles for Solos, Duets, Trios, Groups and Extended Productions, increase each year because of her dedication and drive to provide the best quality dance education to her students.

Many of Kristen’s students have gone onto professional careers in dance including theatre, various dance companies, and becoming talented dance instructors and choreographers themselves.

Kristen truly believes that dance education is a life-long journey and she understands the importance of staying current in this ever-changing dance industry. She continues to expand her vast knowledge and training each year by attending professional workshops, conventions and drop-in classes in Canada and the United States.

Kristen established her own professional dance studio in the GTA at the beginning of 2018. Her passion and love for the arts, as well as, her commitment to the families and students she services, are only a few reasons why you should choose Dancsync Academy Inc. as your new dance home!
