Leyla Draganovic is enthusiastic and honoured to be a member of the Dancsync Academy Family this season! She is eager to share her passion for movement and her artistic ideas with talented students and faculty.
Leyla started dancing at the age of four and has trained in various genres such as Tap, Musical Theatre, Jazz, and Ballet. She began dancing competitively at the age of nine and continued until her last year of dance, the various competitions she has participated in have provided her with valuable experience and skills. This includes leadership, perseverance, commitment, dedication, and a great work ethic. She believes that not only the physical technique built through dance is valuable, but the mindful and mental skills built are valuable to everyday life.
Leyla attended the Regional Arts Program at Mayfield Secondary School with a major in Dance where she furthered her dance education and passion for dance. Here, she was given the opportunity to study the biomechanics of the body, Modern/Fusion dance, Ballet, along with many other world dance genres. She also earned the role of the finale choreographer of her graduating class’s final showcase and has had various lead roles in the department’s performances, as well as starting her own tap company at the school. Leyla graduated with honours and received the coveted arts letter.
Aside from teaching at Dancsync Academy, Leyla is currently in her first year as a French Studies major at York University’s Glendon Campus, hoping to obtain her Bachelor of Arts with Honours and Bachelor of Education. Leyla is excited to be a part of a positive, and hard-working studio environment that inspires students to achieve their fullest potential. Leyla cannot wait to work with such talented young dancers and share her love and passion for dance with her students!
